Stuff about me: Cristin Pescosolido

Bio Stuff:

I was born in central Maine, a small city called Lewiston, `cos the smaller town that my parents lived in didn't have a hospital. I lived there (Lisbon Falls) until I was 2, then my folks moved to Rockland, on the coast.

I remember almost nothing about that time, and it has led me to wonder what happened between the ages of 2 and 8, when we moved to central California, near Fresno. I lived in an orange grove with my parents, two sisters, four dogs and three cats.

Harvard/Radcliffe

At Radcliffe, I started thinking about doing Physics, but the math just got to be too heinous. So, in keeping with my artistic side, I decided to be a `Visual and Environmental Studies' concentrator. It was there that I discovered really great classes and my love for animation and filmmaking.

After I graduated, I went to San Francisco, and had a wonderful time. I came out of the closet and let everybody know that I am a Here are some Queer resourcesfor you to look at.

Unfortunately, due to the timing of things in the industry, there wasn't much (if really any) animation work for someone just starting out. So, after only two years up there, I decided to go to film school at CalArts

I am also very interested in women's politics, and would like to somehow make a difference for women through my work. (lots of youthful idealism here.)

Until recently, I worked for a company called: Cinesite. I started workng nights there while I took my masters degree classes during the day. Most of my friends told me that I was insane for trying to go to school and working nights, but it was a great career opportunity. After just a short time there, I got pretty good at motion tracking, and I was made the motion tracking supervisor. After a year of that and doing lots of compositing, I was made a sequence supervisor, and did lots of work on Sphere

I am now working for Centropolis Effects where I do a bunch of compositing for film effects, and I do some cool R and D stuff as well. CFX is a much smaller effects house, but I have a lot more autonomy and responsibility. I like it a bunch.
