Art & Architecture Galley, Commissioned by Yale School of Architecture,
Yale University, New Haven CT, 1996.
Gallery space = 1200 sq. ft. with 16 ft. ceilings. The structure; created through the repetition of one unit. The unit measured 28 inches x 8 inches x 8 inches; made from a single piece of unprocessed paper. The overall measurements of the structure = 21 ft.-8 inches x 9 ft.-8 inches x 7 ft. Collaboration of Atsuko Kubota and Andrew Wolff.
Starting as a Euclidean structure, this structure sublimated and transformed over time. The paper units gradually twisted, bulged and collapsed under their own weight as water was added periodically; twice a day during the exhibition period.
