What we call the woods today is often interwoven and confused with the nostalgia directed toward the woods of the past. Sample cuttings collected from over thirty different indigenous woodland tree and shrub species (the woods of the past) were placed in the interior of a geodesic sphere located in the middle of a Victorian garden (the woods today). The cuttings could be viewed through nine different apertures. This installation functioned metaphorically as a "window" into the past.
